ludwigzapf. Values.
Ethically correct treatment of people and animals worldwide.
The ethically correct treatment of people and animals worldwide is one of the guiding principles that ludwigzapf has made its own.
For all fabrics, ethical standards such as payment and working conditions are implemented in accordance with the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI). ludwigzapf does not use leather at all. Only LiveSilk is used for silk, which does not harm the caterpillar. Only eider down is used, which is collected after the caterpillars have left the nests. Fair treatment is also ensured in the rearing, shearing and combing of the animals.
ludwigzapf faces up to its ecological responsibility. For years now, the entire company, all products and services as well as transport have been 100% climate-neutral. This is made possible, among other things, by the targeted avoidance of greenhouse gases through the generation of electricity via the company's own photovoltaic system and the exclusive use of bio-electricity and biogas. In addition, we are already using the first vehicles with electric motors where this makes sense. All other company vehicles have been tested according to the new, very strict EURO6 standard. The unavoidable remainder is compensated by the renowned company ClimatePartner by means of reforestation or investments in ecological, CO2-reducing projects.
The basis of all sustainability is a product that inspires and is used for a long time. Not just a fabric, but a real favourite.
By choosing textiles from ludwigzapf, you support sustainable production methods and a holistic corporate policy that focuses on the responsible use of limited resources. Many small steps lead to a future worth living with an intact nature.
A logical further step was the certification according to GOTS. The Global Organic Textile Standard is a worldwide standard for the processing of textiles made from organically produced natural fibres. It defines environmental requirements along the entire textile production chain as well as social criteria. Quality assurance is carried out through independent certification of the entire textile supply chain.
